Rewault Privacy Policy
Rewault ("we", "us") helps you keep receipts, warranties, return deadlines and product records in one place. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
What we collect
| Data | Where it comes from | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, account ID | Sign in with Apple or Google | Create and secure your account |
| Products, receipts, warranties, stores, prices, reminders | What you add, scan or import | Run the app's features |
| Receipt and product photos | Your camera or photo library | Read receipts and show them in your records |
| Receipt emails (only if you connect Gmail) | Gmail, read-only | Find and import purchase receipts |
| Barcodes and product names | Scans and your records | Look up product details, recalls and prices |
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history or advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How we use it
Only to provide and improve Rewault's features: storing your library, reading receipts, reminders for returns, warranties and maintenance, recall and price checks, and the in-app assistant. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that run Rewault's features:
- Supabase: stores your account and library data, protected so that only your account can read it.
- OpenAI: when you scan a receipt, import a receipt email, or use the assistant, the relevant text and images are sent to OpenAI to process the request. Requests go through our server and are sent with storage turned off. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models.
- Google: Google sign-in, and Gmail access if you connect it.
- Apple: Sign in with Apple.
- UPCitemdb and Open Food Facts: barcode numbers, used to look up product details.
- U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC / SaferProducts.gov): product names and brands, used to check for recalls.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
Gmail data
If you connect Gmail, Rewault asks for read-only access and only reads messages that look like purchase receipts. That data is used only to show and import your receipts. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and people do not read it unless you ask us to for support or the law requires it. You can disconnect Gmail in Settings at any time.
Rewault's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and security
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). In our database, row-level security limits every record to its owner. Photos are stored on your device with iOS data protection. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. To delete your account and all your data, go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your library from our servers, removes photos from your device, and, for Apple accounts, revokes Rewault's Sign in with Apple access. You can also email us to request deletion.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to some processing. To use these rights, email sujenk@gmail.com. We do not sell or "share" personal information as California law defines those terms.
Children
Rewault is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 where local law requires), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
